Canaan Valley Birding Festival: June 1-3, 2012

Visit the spectacular Allegheny Highlands region in Tucker County, West Virginia and enjoy our amazing diversity of breeding birds and their habitats. The county offers a unique mix of boreal forest, wetland habitats, and high altitude (4250′) allowing the perfect birding location each summer for breeding birds. Bird walks, guest speakers and other fun activities are planned for everyone from bird experts to beginners. During past festivals, our expert leaders have found or heard up to twenty-three species of warblers in their breeding grounds, including the elusive “Brewster’s” warbler, a hybrid of blue-winged and golden-winged warblers.
