Young People for Parks

Canaan Valley Resort is proud to offer it’s younger guests the opportunity to learn more about the resort’s grounds and the wildlife that live here. The Young People for Parks Program is designed to educate children about the flora, fauna, insects and wildlife around them. Children must attend a total of three walks. Each child, upon completion of the program, will be given a certificate and a badge (or lapel pin) for their participation.

Our staff will lead the group on walks throughout the park grounds. This program is designed for children ages 6-16. There is no charge for this program which is sponsored by the WV Division of Natural Resources.

Adults are encouraged to attend. Children ages 12-under must be accompanied by an adult on walks. For further information, contact the Nature Center at 800-622-4121 ext. 2688.
