North Fork Valley Canopy Tour
Valid: April 2 – November 30, 2012
Harness up and clip in for the high flying adventure! This unique 3.5 hour canopy tour will send you zip-lining through the beautifully diverse hardwood forest at the Nelson Rocks Preserve. Soar on nearly a mile of zip lines ranging from 150-680 feet in length and up to 80 feet about the forest floor, in this network of 12 exciting zip lines and 3 sky bridges that ends with a 40-foot rappel. Get a bird’s eye view of Spruce Knob, Judy Rocks, and the other breathtaking areas in the North Fork Valley. Restrictions: all riders must be weigh between 70lbs – 250lbs. Maximum tour size is 8 people.

Via Ferrata – Guided Rock Climb

Challenge the Via Ferrata at Nelsons Rocks Outdoor Center - a spectacular guided climbing route with a permanently installed anchor system. This thrilling, physically demanding adventure is open to participants ages 13 – older. Participants will experience an elevation gain of 900′, over 200′ of vertical exposure, and a suspension bridge that spans between two towering fins of rock. No experience necessary.

Mountain Trails Package

Moutain Trail Rides offers guests the opportunity to ride on scenic horse trails within the boundaries of the beautiful Canaan Valley Resort State Park, home to an abundance of wildlife, including white-tailed deer and black bear which can be seen in their natural habitat. There are frequent wildlife sightings and photo opportunities along the trail as you ride through wooded forests and mountain meadows to vantage points near Bald Knob. An experienced trail guide will lead your journey.

Paddle & Saddle Adventures

Explore the land and water with this “Paddle and Saddle” package. Spend your first day rafting down the cheat narrows river and mountain sunshine. Your second day consist of a horseback ride along trails within the park grounds – viewing nature in it’s natural habitat. Then explore the park grounds hiking, or stop in for a minature golf round. The outdoor pool (seasonal) and Beech Club privileges are all included in this adventure package.
