Davis, WV – Canaan Valley Resort State Park, in conjunction with the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, present Snakes of West Virginia this Saturday, August 2, 2014. The free, interactive presentation will take place in the Pine Room of Canaan’s Main Lodge starting at 7:00 pm.
WV DNR wildlife biologist Jim Fregonara will conduct the presentation and introduce the audience to both venomous and non-venomous snakes from around the State. Designed to teach audience members how to identify the many different local varieties of snakes, this up-close and personal presentation will also include valuable information on what to do in case of a snake bite.
“After this presentation, the audience will gain a better appreciation of these often misrepresented animals” explains Mr. Fregonara. “The hands-on format allows everyone to interact with these amazing creatures and become better informed.”
The Snakes of West Virginia program is offered free of charge and no advance reservations are required.
