Warm greetings from Canaan Valley Resort State Park! Thank you for your future reservation and we look forward to your visit.
We have exciting news to share with you! Starting in May 2011, and continuing through July 2013, portions of the resort will be under construction as we implement some welcome renovations. The construction/renovations will be administered in phases and will include the construction of two brand new guest wings along with extensive refurbishing of the main lodge (where the front desk, meeting rooms, dining room, and indoor pool are located). As we work hard to make our resort even more inviting and beautiful, we want to assure you that your comfort and enjoyment will continue to be our highest priority.

What does this mean to you as you plan your travels to our resort?

1. Generic renovation information valid for all phases, present and future: Hours of work:  8 am – 7 pm Days of week:  Monday – Friday
2. Sound Impact: Moderate to major noise during the first 2 months (May and June 2011); light to moderate noise throughout the rest of the construction period (July 2011-August 2013).
3. Visual Impact: Initial work is confined to the wings located on each side of the main lodge. Renovations will be made on the main lodge itself during spring or summer 2012. Areas will be cordoned off as necessary.
4. Flow of workers: Workers will access construction sites/renovation areas from the main parking lot area in front of the Main Lodge. Duration: May 2011-August 2013.
5. Walkways to the Main Lodge: The focus will be on safety (providing the safest route). The walkways will not be covered so please plan according to the weather (umbrellas, etc.).
6. Best of all, the construction will not influence the spectacular views of the Valley, the hiking trails or the other outdoor activities.
