DAVIS, W.Va., March 8, 2016 – With winter and spring seemingly overlapping this year, West Virginia’s Canaan Valley Resort will offer both golfing and skiing this weekend.
“This is our version of ‘March Madness,’” said Steve Drumheller, general manager of the resort. “How often can you golf and ski at the same place on the same weekend in March?”
The golf course’s back nine will open for the season at 9 a.m. Friday, March 11. Greens fees for golf, including a shared cart, will be $25 per person for nine holes and $35 for those who play the back nine twice to get in a full 18 holes for the day. The practice putting green and driving range will also be open. The course will be open daily through March (weather permitting) from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The ski area is open daily from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. until closing for the season at the end of the day Sunday, March 13. The tube park will be open Friday through Sunday, March 11-13 for three sessions daily.
Early season golf rates will go into effect April 2 when the front nine opens. Reserved tee times can be made by calling 1-304-866-4121. The championship golf course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish, is rated four stars by Golf Digest and was named one of the top 10 courses in West Virginia. The course features four sets of tees.
